Also The base was very shallow and made other uses of the platter impratical. over all it got the job done. We got it for my mom as a birthday gift and she lives how it looks with a cake or cookies displayed on her countertop! It is nice and heavy - and so far seems to be very stable. The vendor shipped the product as promised, it was well packaged. The cake dome was smaller than I expected. It may not fit a large bunt cake.
